Baby Rams Finish 10-0 Season

The Reidsville Baby Rams concluded another unbeaten season with a 34-0 victory over visiting McMichael Thursday night at Community Stadium.
The undefeated season, the fifth in the last six seasons, put Reidsville at 10-0 on the season. Reidsville was a perfect 5-0 in North State Conference games.
Over the past six years, the Baby Rams are 56-2- their worst season an 8-2 mark back in 2004.
Reidsville needed very little offense in the second half to defeat the Baby Phoenix. After a first half in which the team rushed 19 times for 162 yards and amassed 213 yards of total offense, Reidsville got just 87 yards in the second half.
A 26-0 halftime lead allowed the Baby Rams to play many of their reserves in the fourth quarter.
Josh Harden finished with three rushing touchdowns and 59 yards rushing on seven attempts. Harden scored on runs of 2-, 8- and 4-yards.
Quarterback Lavert Butchee, who was 6 of 9 passing for 89 yards, rushed eight times for 84 yards and scored twice.
Kenzel Doe was Reidsville’s leading receiver with four receptions for 50 yards. Michael Allen added two catches for 39 yards.
In the loss, McMichael got 22 carries and 124 yards from Ricky Penn. Penn helped the Baby Phoenix rush for 180 yards on 43 attempts.
Reidsville scored on its first drive of the game, a five-play, 59-yard drive capped off by a four-yard Harden TD run.
Late in the first quarter, following a McMichael fumble, Reidsville scored on a four-play, 19-yard drive – capped off by the second Harden TD run of the night.
The Phoenix mounted a drive on their next possession, reaching the Reidsville 36 before a series of losses forced the visitors to punt.
Reidsville’s next scoring drive took seven plays and Butchee increased the team’s lead to 20-0 with a one-yard QB keeper.
Butchee capped off the first-half scoring with a 37-yard touchdown run through the middle of the Phoenix defense.
With 7:01 left in the third quarter, Harden’s eight-yard run closed out the scoring for the Baby Rams.
Defensively, Deshawn Crews recorded a sack and Devon McCain recovered a fumble.
For McMichael, Penn recovered a fumble and Seth Chilton added an interception.
