Cowboys Get First Win

 

The Cowboys held off the Vikings for a 19-18 win in a Reidsville Parks & Recreation Department 10-12 football game Tuesday night in Community Stadium.

In the other game the Redskins trounced the Steelers 32-7.

At Jaycee Park, the Broncos edged the Giants 6-0 in the completion of a suspended game from last week.

 

Cowboys 19

Vikings 18

The Cowboys got their first win of the season by scoring 13 points in the third quarter.

The Cowboys led 19-6 in the fourth quarter before the Vikings rallied.

Tashaun Nimmons scored on a 45-yard run to cut the Cowboy lead to19-12 and then scored on a 54-yard run with 1:04 left in the game to cut the Viking deficit to one point. But, the Cowboys held on the conversion and recovered an onside kick to run out the clock.

Kevin Coleman scored on runs of 51 and 52 yards for the Cowboys and Javon Jacob returned a fumble 51 yards for another score. Jarron Cobb added an extra point.

Jayron Rankin had the other Viking touchdown on a four-yard run.

Ben Evans recovered a fumble for the Vikings and Tyre Wilson, Coleman, and Jacob had reoveries for the Cowboys.

Redskins 32

Steelers 7

Rhamel Irving scored four touchdowns to lead the Redskins.

Irving scored on runs of 6, 9, 9, and 19 yards while Justin Smith added a two-yard scoring run. Smith had one conversion and Ratrez Johnson caught a converson pass from P.J. Barham.

Dominique Evans scored on a two-yard run for the Steelers and also ran in the conversion.

Gerell Burch recovered two fumbles for the Redskins and Kashus Galloway had one.

Jaylin Scales recovered a pair of fumbles for the Steelers.

Barham had an interception for the Redskins and Mekail Winchester had a pick for the Steelers.

Broncos 6

Giants 0

The Broncos scored in the fourth quarter to win a game suspended from Oct.1 due to light failure and JC Park.

Justin Jackson scored the game's only touchdown with a three-yard run in the fourth quarter.

Justin Hairston recovered a fumble for the Broncos.
